Slinger Signaller Training Dates


The course is designed to provide information and practice on the operational and legal requirements of carrying out lifting operations on a construction site, in a safe and controlled manner.

This information is essential to any person who intends to carry out lifting operations, whether as a Slinger/Signaller, the person who is to attaching the load to the crane or as the competent person in charge of lifting operations on a large site.

Objectives:

  • Grasp a knowledge of basic slinging methods and where to obtain information and guidance on the approved methods of slinging
  • Understand the requirements of HASAW Act 1974, PUWER 1998 and LOLER 1998.
  • Become competent in carrying out pre-use inspection of lifting accessories
  • Candidates will be able to identify the hazards associated with lifting operations.
  • Become competent in selecting the correct equipment and safe method of slinging for loads commonly encountered in construction
  • Become competent in planning and performing a lifting operation using safe practices as laid down in Health and Safety legislation and guidance
