QUESTION 1:

So who could be trained for this job?

Anyone, male or female who is able to climb ladders, and has a basic head for heights. Medical fitness is also a must! This doesn't include anyone who suffers from epilepsy, high blood pressure, drugs, alcohol dependency etc.Bobby has, over the last 8 years trained people from all occupations including postmen, wine waiters, chefs, taxi drivers, draughtsmen, insurance salesmen, lathe turners, lorry drivers, publicans, academics, directors, construction workers of course, and one (ex) jewel thief!!

 

Question 2:

So what does this training involve?

It involves a 10 day intensive training programme and an end test, the content of which is 30% Theory, 70% Practical, at the end of which the trainee will be able to operate a tower crane competently, productively, whilst most importantly, observing the safety of his machine, himself, and all others around the lifting operation. The criteria for the official training schedule is 70 hours tuition, we actually acheive 83 hours over the two weeks on site. A full course content will be supplied to the customer prior to booking.

What level of competence will I achieve on completion of the course?


Most training providers will offer a BASIC competence with the machine. Bobby goes further! On completion of your course you will be able to competently carry out all operations required on site, i.e. concreting, steel erecting, placing shutters, offloading and loading vehicles etc.
